Alumina bricks are a common refractory material sold by Yutong and contain more than 48% alumina. They are neutral refractory materials. The bricks are made from bauxite or other high alumina raw materials by molding and firing. They have high thermal stability and can withstand high temperatures above 1770°C. alumina bricks are characterized by high refractoriness, high strength, resistance to acid attack and good thermal stability. alumina bricks are mainly used as linings for building electric iron furnaces, glass kilns or cement rotary kilns.

 

 

Description of alumina bricks

Alumina bricks are alumina-silicate refractories with an Al2O3 content of more than 48%. High alumina bricks are made of alumina or other raw materials with high alumina content, formed and fired. High alumina bricks are resistant to acid slag erosion due to their neutral refractory properties. High alumina bricks have high thermal stability and refractoriness of over 1770°C.

According to the different content of Al2O3, our high alumina bricks can be divided into three grades.

The Al2O3 content of first-grade high alumina brick is above 75%.

The Al2O3 content of second-grade high alumina brick is 60~75%.

The Al2O3 content of the third-grade high alumina brick is 48~60%.

 

 

Alumina brick performance

1. Alumina brick is a senior refractory material with refractoriness up to 1750-1790℃, which is higher than clay brick and semi-silica brick.

2. The load refractoriness of high alumina brick is higher than clay brick because high alumina brick has high Al2O3 content, fewer impurities and less fusible glass body formed. However, because mullite crystals do not form a mesh structure, their load refractoriness is lower than that of silica bricks.

3. High alumina bricks have more Al2O3 content, which is neutral refractory material and can resist the erosion of acid and alkali slag. And because they also contain SiO2, high alumina bricks are more resistant to acidic slag erosion than alkaline slag erosion.

 

 

Alumina Brick Applications

Alumina bricks are mainly used for building blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, electric furnace roofs, blast furnaces, reflector furnaces and rotary kiln linings. In addition, alumina bricks are also used as heat storage lattice bricks for flat furnaces, plugs and water spout bricks for pouring systems.

General application alumina brick
