Ceramic Fiber Board
A ceramic fiber board provides a rigid solution for ceramic fiber insulation. Our ceramic insulating panels are manufactured by a wet molding process using alumina-silica fibers and binders. Standard ceramic insulating board grades are standard, high purity and zirconia. The boards are available in a variety of temperature ratings, sizes and custom vacuum-formed shapes. If you are looking for a ceramic fiber board not listed or custom fabrication, please contact us directly.
Low-Density Ceramic Fiber Board vs. High-Density Ceramic Fiber Board
Low-density ceramic fiber insulation board has slightly better insulation properties but is not as durable and heavy as high-density. When drilling, machining, or hardening ceramic fiber board, our office always recommends high density. If you have further questions about specific applications, please contact us.
High temperature stability
Excellent strength and hardness
Low thermal conductivity, sound transmission, heat storage
Uniform density and excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack
Excellent stiffness and modulus of rupture make the sheets strong and self-supporting, yet relatively lightweight and easy to cut or machine
Resistant to oxidation and reduction
Allows rapid thermal cycling without cracking or spalling
Resists penetration of molten aluminum and other non-ferrous metals
Insulation support for bricks and castings.
Furnace hot surface lining.
Insulation of industrial thermal processing equipment.
High-temperature gaskets and seals.
Flue and chimney linings for furnaces or kilns.
Molten metal channel covers.
Expansion joints.
Industrial thermal shields and thermal barriers.
Industrial combustion chamber structures.
The infrared element supports.
Blanket hot surface liners.
Full-thickness refractory lining.
High-temperature boiler wall insulation.
Pouring forms of castables.
Refractory lining of industrial furnace walls, roofs, doors and chimneys.
Ideal for applications subjected to vibration, mechanical stress and strong erosive forces.
Combustion chamber linings, boilers and heaters.
Alternate insulation for bricks and monolithic refractories.
Conveying molten aluminum and other non-ferrous metals.
Blocking flames or heat.
Hot facings for high-speed or abrasive furnace atmospheres.
